Activities
Sustainable production of eggs and egg products that are naturally better. That is what we strive for. With about 500 employees, we control the entire process. From production to delivery to our customers: retail organisations and the egg-processing industry in the Netherlands, Germany and worldwide.
We connect all links in the chain properly and efficiently. This is how we add value together. As a buyer, you can count on a reliable product.
Every egg and egg product we sell comes from our poultry farmers in the Netherlands and Germany. There are now over 50 of them. Every week, chickens collectively lay over 50 million eggs. These eggs naturally comply with desired quality labels such as KAT, IKB and Beter Leven, among others.
Our own drivers collect eggs from poultry farmers, in clean trucks. Loading and unloading is also done carefully to avoid breaking eggs.
Kwetters is a specialist in buying and grading eggs. We separate various types and qualities and sort by size for our customers. We manage all production flows efficiently with our sorting machines. We continuously modernise these machines and the sorting process. This way, we guarantee the best eggs and deliveries. Kwetters has packing stations in the Netherlands and Germany.
At Adriaan Goede, we break and process eggs into high-quality powdered egg products from whole egg, egg yolk and egg white. These powders are excellent for dry mixes, sauces (such as mayonnaise), pasta and foaming agents in sweets and pasta. And as a natural binding agent in meat and fish products.
At Adriaan Goede (Landsmeer NL), we also process eggs into liquid products of whole egg, egg yolk and egg white for bakeries. These liquid products are very suitable for the bakery, as ingredients for dough and baked goods. And also, for example, for sauces such as mayonnaise.
Every year, we cook and peel hundreds of millions of eggs at Egga Food. We pack eggs and ship them to our customers: egg processors, wholesalers, supermarkets, food service companies and caterers in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Incoming eggs are placed in holders with suction cups. In the cooking room, we cook them in a boiling bath. They are then cooled and peeled automatically. After checking for eggshells, we rinse the eggs clean and they go to the second cooling bath. After a second check, the eggs go into buckets or bags with a covering liquid of water, acid and salt.
Our coloured/boiled eggs are popular all year round. We dye them in our own dyeing mill. Before that, we check each egg for cracks and hairline cracks. We either roll or spray the eggs. With spray painting, several motifs are possible. You can choose from various ways of sorting and packing: all eggs in colour, 6 different colours or random colours. The packages go into boxes, which we put on pallets. The eggs go on transport that same day.

Because of an egg's best-before date, we sort eggs within 24 hours and they go on transport from packing station to destination. We work with regular external carriers that we have carefully selected. Through smart planning, we reduce empty loads and lower the cost and carbon footprint per kilo of finished product. However, not all outbound work is outsourced to external carriers; on average, 4 loads a day are transported by our own drivers.
From our packing stations, more than 40 million eggs go to supermarkets in the Netherlands and Germany every week. These include organic and free-range eggs with all kinds of quality labels. Such as Beter Leven, 2 and stars and KAT-certified.
